“I am overwhelmed with joy in the Lord my God! For He has dressed me with the clothing of salvation and draped me in a robe of righteousness. I am like a bridegroom dressed for his wedding or a bride with her jewels.”
Isaiah 61:10
The only thing God desires us to be overwhelmed with is JOY in His presence.
Whenever we begin to feel overwhelmed by sadness, anger, anxiety, and stress, it’s time to tell the enemy,
“Not today, satan. I am overwhelmed with JOY by the power of God’s Spirit alive within me and overflowing through me.”
If God has covered us with the robe of His righteousness and dressed us in the clothing of salvation, may we be overwhelmed with His JOY too!
As the beloved bride of Christ, we are to be glad and rejoice and give honor to God. Our gladness and rejoicing bring honor to God. Soon, the time of the wedding feast of the Lamb will come, and we, the church as the bride of Christ, are to prepare ourselves for all the joy that is yet to come. As we come daily to the banquet table of the Lord and continue receiving from the bread of life, His joy will overwhelm, strengthen and sustain us until that glorious day of joyful, heavenly celebration. (See John 6:32-40; Revelation 19:7)
Lord, thank You for overwhelming me today with the JOY of your presence in worship of You, the lover of my soul. May Your love and the power of Your Spirit fill my heart with gladness and rejoicing bringing honor to Your name in this life and forevermore. Amen.
This is my prayer for Joyful Jenny and each one of you.
