Jesus asked Peter, “But who do you say that I am?” Peter answered and said to Him, “You are the Christ.” (Mark 8:29) This was revealed to Peter through the revelation of God.
Today, many of us need to ask this same question of Jesus about ourselves. “Lord, who do you say that I am?”
Then, we need to believe the answers based on His Word.
I need to believe who THE GREAT I AM says I am.
I also need to believe the promises that are forever true in my life as His child.
Do you know who you are in Christ? Apparently many Christ followers don’t. Why would I make this statement? What we really believe affects our behavior. So, it’s not just what we say we believe, or the truth we say we know, but it’s the beliefs we live out loud for all to see. These are the beliefs that clearly affect our thoughts, actions, habits, character and the journey of our lives.
THOUGHTS BECOME ACTIONS
ACTIONS BECOME HABITS
HABITS BECOME CHARACTER
CHARACTER BECOMES OUR DESTINY
Based on many of the behaviors of the believers in Christ today, one of three things has occurred:
1) we have forgotten Who we belong to,
2) we don’t know what God’s Word says, or
3) we are believing lies over the Father’s truth.
Okay, so, some of the issues that are hindering a lot of us believers are even deeper than this, but, hopefully these will stir up a few thoughts to ponder.
If you have repented of your sin, asked God to forgive you, and have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you are a new creation in Christ.
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. 2 CORINTHIANS 5:21
JUST AS WE ARE NEW CREATIONS IN CHRIST, WE HAVE A NEW IDENTITY IN CHRIST. WE ARE JOINT HEIRS WITH CHRIST (Romans 8:16-17).
THIS IS WHO THE GREAT I AM says I am and
these are His promises of truth over my life:
I AM GOD’S CHILD. (John 1:12)
I AM CHRIST’S FRIEND. (John 15:15)
I AM UNITED WITH THE LORD. (1 Corinthians 6:17)
I AM BOUGHT WITH A PRICE. (1 Corinthians 6:19-20)
I AM A SAINT. (SET APART FOR GOD) (Ephesians 1:1)
I AM A PERSONAL WITNESS OF CHRIST. (Acts 1:8)
I AM THE SALT & LIGHT OF THE EARTH. (Matthew 5:13-14)
I AM A MEMBER OF THE BODY OF CHRIST. (1 Corinthians 12:27)
I AM FREE FOREVER FROM CONDEMNATION. (Romans 8:1-2)
I AM A CITIZEN OF HEAVEN. I AM SIGNIFICANT. (Philippians 3:20)
I AM FREE FROM ANY CHARGE AGAINST ME. (Romans 8:31-34)
I AM A MINISTER OF RECONCILIATION FOR GOD. (2 Corinthians 5:17-21)
I HAVE ACCESS TO GOD THROUGH THE HOLY SPIRIT. (Ephesians 2:18)
I AM SEATED WITH CHRIST IN THE HEAVENLY REALMS. (Ephesians 2:6)
I CANNOT BE SEPARATED FROM THE LOVE OF GOD. (Romans 8:35-39)
I AM ESTABLISHED, ANOINTED, & SEALED BY GOD’S SPIRIT. (2 Corinthians 1:21-22)
I AM ASSURED ALL THINGS WORK TOGETHER FOR GOOD (AS A LOVER & FOLLOWER OF HIS PLAN). (Romans 8:28)
I HAVE BEEN CHOSEN & APPOINTED TO BEAR FRUIT. (John 15:16)
I MAY APPROACH GOD WITH FREEDOM & CONFIDENCE. (Ephesians 3:12)
I CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST WHO STRENGTHENS ME. (Philippians 4:13)
I AM THE BRANCH OF THE TRUE VINE, A CHANNEL OF HIS LIFE. (John 15:1-5)
I AM GOD’S TEMPLE. (1 Corinthians 3:16)
I AM COMPLETE IN CHRIST. (Colossians 2:10)
I AM HIDDEN WITH CHRIST IN GOD. (Colossians 3:3)
I HAVE BEEN JUSTIFIED (I HAVE PEACE). (Romans 5:1)
I AM GOD’S CO-WORKER. (1 Corinthians 3:9; 2 Corinthians 6:1)
I AM GOD’S UNIQUE WORKMANSHIP. (Ephesians 2:10)
I AM CONFIDENT THAT THE GOOD WORKS GOD HAS BEGUN IN ME WILL BE COMPLETED. (Philippians 1:6)
I HAVE BEEN REDEEMED & FORGIVEN. (Colossians 1:14)
I HAVE BEEN ADOPTED AS GOD’S CHILD. (Ephesians 1:5)
I HAVE BEEN CHOSEN AS A MINISTER OF HIS LIGHT. (1 Peter 2:9)
THE SAME SPIRIT OF GOD THAT RAISED JESUS FROM THE DEAD IS ALIVE IN ME. (Romans 8:11)
I BELONG TO GOD!
THIS IS WHO I AM IN CHRIST & THESE ARE HIS PROMISES!
Rise up all you redeemed sons and daughters of The Most High God.
Believe and speak these promises over yourself today!
