If someone attacks your character, overcome evil with good. Forgive them and pray for them. Keep surrendering to God’s Spirit so that more of the fruit of His Spirit ~ love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control ~ continually grow in you and overflow through you.
If someone attacks your heart motives and what you feel called by God to do, overcome evil with good. Forgive them and pray for them. Continue to pursue what God has put in your heart to do and pray for their hearts to pursue God’s presence and His purpose for their life too.
If someone attacks or abuses someone you love, overcome evil with good. Forgive them and pray for them. Keep walking in love and especially keep loving all the beloved and broken ones just like Christ would do. Now that you know what this feels like, don’t let this painful cycle get repeated through you. Pray for God’s heart, His help and His healing and eyes to see all the captives who need to be set free.

If someone attacks you while aware that you are hurting, heartbroken or in pain, you might need to avoid their presence, but pray for them to encounter the presence of Christ. Separation may only be temporary, or until their true heart repentance finally leads their actions and words to change. Pray for a Holy Spirit filled sensitivity that will help them see others through the eyes of the Father, and break free from being the cause of more pain.

Remember, hurting and wounded people hurt and wound others. Sometimes it’s intentional and sometimes it’s not – and the ones who hurt and wound us are usually oblivious. It’s a cycle that can only be broken by the powerful healing of the Anointed One.
If you love people, pray for them. If you can’t speak truth in a loving and respectful way, don’t say anything. Pray. Pray. Pray. Wait for the right timing and for God to give you the right words to say with grace.
Also remember Jesus was falsely accused, attacked and greatly abused to the point of death too. Our flesh has to die so offense doesn’t hinder God’s love breaking through.
Yes, and everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.
2 Timothy 3:12

We all need forgiveness, healing, mercy and grace. We have all likely hurt someone because we were hurting or were totally oblivious too. As we have freely received, Lord help us keep on receiving and releasing your love, mercy, healing, kindness and grace.
Help us all, Holy Spirit. Amen.
At last their lying lips will be muted in their graves. For they are arrogant, filled with contempt and conceit as they speak against the godly. Lord, how wonderful you are! You have stored up so many good things for us, like a treasure chest heaped up and spilling over with blessings— all for those who honor and worship you! Everybody knows what you can do for those who turn and hide themselves in you. So hide all your beloved ones in the sheltered, secret place before your face. Overshadow them with your glory-presence. Keep them from these accusations, the brutal insults of evil men. Tuck them safely away in the tabernacle where you dwell.
