Joy is our Inheritance!

Joy is part of our inheritance as a son or daughter of the Most High God. The joy of the Lord planted within us by the power of God’s Spirit alive within us is our strength. This is why the devil and the father of lies is after it.

Jesus said, “I have come to give you life and life abundantly, but the thief comes only to steal, to kill and to destroy.” Jesus also said, “I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.” {John 10:10; 15:11}

Are you thirsty? Do you need a drink of the new wine of the Holy Spirit that fills you with the joy that only God’s Spirit can provide? Why do you spend your money for that which is not satisfying? The joy that we all need to be our strength is the supernatural joy from the Spirit of God. This joy of the Lord overcomes every sorrow and circumstance and is only found as we purpose to press into God’s presence, sitting at the feet of His Word and worshiping and thanking Him in and through every season of life.

Joy doesn’t just fall on us. It is like a seed planted within us. The seed of joy must be watered and cultivated in order for this fountain of joy to overflow.

“Wait and listen, everyone who is thirsty! Come to the waters; and he who has no money, come, buy and eat! Yes, come, buy [priceless, spiritual] wine and milk without money and without price [simply for the self-surrender that accepts the blessing]. Why do you spend your money for what does not satisfy? Hearten diligently to Me, and eat what is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness [the profuseness of spiritual joy].” Isaiah 55:1-2 The Amplified Bible

Am I constantly joyful? No. I too feel sorrow and pain and have battles over staying filled with joy, but just like choosing to love, worship and follow Jesus is a choice, so is choosing to thank God, to worship God, to feast on the Word of God over feasting on worry, fear, and all our sorrows. I have chosen to fight for what I know God has promised me in His Word. This is one of my own personal fights of faith. This is not a selfish desire to want to be filled with the Father’s joy even in the midst of pain, problems, and a pandemic either. When I am depressed, I have no energy or strength to do anything helpful to others. We have to be aware that the gifts God has given us to bless or encourage others are frequently stifled or even shut down if the enemy achieves his goal of stealing, killing or destroying the joy of the Lord that God has promised is ours.

There are things that open the door to our joy and things that close the door.

What doors do you need to open today so your mind and heart can be open to receiving the joy of the Lord as your strength today?

What doors do you need to close today that are hindering the fullness of joy in your mind and heart today?

Again, the enemy comes to steal, to kill and to destroy. He is a joy killer. Jesus is THE JOY GIVER. Jesus is the Giver of ALL JOY. I am praying for myself and you too that the Father’s joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete today. May His joy be your strength for today and everyday!

NO JOY = NO STRENGTH!

You will show me the way of life granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with You forever. Psalm 16:11

Speak this WORD out loud over yourself today:

This is the DAY that THE LORD has MADE. I will CHOOSE to be JOYFUL and GLAD in it! Psalm 118:24

ENJOY the Father God’s glorious gift of today!

Love and prayers of GRACE, PEACE and JOY over you all today! ~Joyful Jenny
