From Joyful Jenny’s “Joy Like a Fountain” study – the joy of pressing on beyond complacency and compromise.
Father God, forgive us when we grow weary and wimpy amidst the pain, pressures and problems of this life. We ask for a fresh baptism of Your Spirit to empower us, to fill us, to burn within us and to ignite us into action and out of complacency and all forms of compromise.
Give us grace, peace and rest, and the wisdom and endurance to run the race uniquely marked out for us, and as part of the body of Christ; may we discern our specific assignment in each season of our journey. Help us to be reconcilers and peacemakers working in the unity of the Spirit with our brothers and sisters in Christ.
May we press more into worship, prayer and the study of Your Word for such a time as this. May the convictions in line with Your Spirit and the Word of Truth remain strong in our hearts, and unshaken by the compromising culture.
Stir up and awaken more desire to walk as mature believers living victoriously in the Spirit. We set our eyes on You and Your ways and thank You, Lord, for filling our hearts with joy unspeakable as we seek Your higher calling, all for Your glory and kingdom purpose. Amen.
I admit that I haven’t yet acquired the absolute fullness that I’m pursuing, but I run with passion into his abundance so that I may reach the purpose for which Christ Jesus laid hold of me to make me his own. I don’t depend on my own strength to accomplish this; however I do have one compelling focus: I forget all of the past as I fasten my heart to the future instead. I run straight for the divine invitation of reaching the heavenly goal and gaining the victory-prize through the anointing of Jesus. So let all who are fully mature have this same passion, and if anyone is not yet gripped by these desires, God will reveal it to them. And let us all advance together to reach this victory-prize, following one path with one passion.
