This historic day we should never forget, nor should the heroic actions of all these men and women ever be cancelled out.
This is a day we should always remember all those who tragically lost dear friends and loved ones. Like most Americans, I still remember vividly the details of this day even 19 years later. A morning that began trenched in tears of grief and shock quickly turned into a day of intercession with others.
September 11, 2001 was a day of great terror, tragedy, horrific loss, mourning and prayer. Every year on this day, I remember to pray for continued peace, comfort, and healing of all those devastatingly affected by the tragic acts of terrorism our country experienced. Today, I pray we all join together in unity honoring their memories and praying for all their families.
Today, we not only remember the victims of September 11th and their families and friends, but we also remember the courageous acts of heroes on this day, many of whom most will never know their names. Even amidst the terror and death, these triumphant and fearless American heroes risked their lives to save others. These heroes are worthy of being remembered and honored.
In times of crisis, true heroes always arise. They are not born then, however, they have been heroes all along by just quietly serving behind the scenes.
Who are these mostly unknown heroes we need to remember? They include, but are not limited to, the Firefighters, First Responders, Police Officers, and evening the extraordinary fellow citizens who love people enough to risk and endanger their own lives to save others. These heroic ones never start fires that destroy and dessimate citizens and cities, but instead they are the extinguishers of the furious flames of devastation. You will never see these true heroes rioting, but instead these are the brave ones who risk their own lives by running into burning buildings to save others whom they do not even know. In spite of knowing they were going to die, these bold and brave heroes took the lead with uncommon and chivalrous actions on planes preventing further destruction and needless death. Thousands were saved and spared as a result. On behalf of these, honor and remembrance are quite in order.
One of these true brave hearts will forever be remembered proclaiming, “Let’s roll!” The fearless actions of this hero inspired others to act together boldly in the face of death taking down pilots with evil, murderous plans to massacre many. We remember you and honor the memory of your name today, Todd Morgan Beamer, a true American hero. May God be with the Beamer family and all these families we remember today. May God, who knows all your names, comfort you and give you peace we pray.
Beyond these, we honor and remember all our warrior men and women of the military, and all our fellow American volunteers with servant hearted spirits, including the pastors, priests, ministry teams, community groups, medical workers, construction workers, and the list goes on and on. These infamous ones gave sacrificially of their time, energy and resources to support the heartbroken, devastated and grieving to help bring healing, to comfort, support, and work not to tear down, but to rebuild and restore. These heroic Americans are worthy of our honor and remembrance. These great heroes are never focused on bringing attention to themselves, but are glad to answer the call to attentively and selflessly serve the needs of others.

In times of crisis, our true character is revealed. In times of crisis, true heroes arrive on the scene to help, heal, restore and rebuild.
May we always honor and remember the true heroes of this horrific and historic day in the USA.
