Rise during the night and cry out. Pour out your hearts like water to the Lord. Lift up Your hands to Him in prayer, pleading for your children, for in every street they are faint with hunger. Lamentations 2:19
Came across this verse and was reminded that this is true of so many in this present generation of youth, teens, and young adults (both the wealthy and the poor), who are fainting and dying due to spiritual hunger. Many are literally “starving to death on the streets” (as The Message translation puts it), attempting to fill their hungry souls through peer acceptance, alcohol, sex, drugs, materialism, achievements, and the list goes on.
We are called to cry out in prayer, and then to go out and bring them the bread of life.
“I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to Me will never be hungry again. Whoever believes in Me will never be thirsty.” Jesus (John 6:35)
“Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone.” Jesus (Mark 16:15)
