Matthew gives the account that the graves were opened, and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised. They came out of their graves and went into the holy city and appeared to many. (Matthew 27:52-53) Not only did Jesus arise from the dead, but other saints did too!
Those of us who are believers and have surrendered our hearts and lives to Jesus will live even though our physical bodies die. Jesus told us this in John 11:25. Beyond the death of our physical and earthly bodies, we will live on in eternity forever, but we are also called to be living a life full of the resurrection power of Christ today. We are called to be ALIVE IN CHRIST today.
We are all called to arise from our daily graves of sin, compromise, self pity, complacency and apathy, and shine for Christ today. Many of us appear to be walking around with our grave clothes on. Just as it was the supernatural resurrection power of God’s Holy Spirit that raised Jesus and the “many others” too from their graves, it will ONLY be through the power of this same Holy Spirit that we experience the power to live victoriously in this earthly life.
The same Holy Spirit that raised Jesus Christ from the dead now resides within each of us who are believers (Romans 8:11). That power is more than enough power to live victoriously as an overcomer in Christ. This is the ONLY way we are able to be more than conquerors through Him who loved us (Romans 8:37).
Perhaps we should just ask: “Lord, what do you want to bury within me and what do you desire to resurrect within me today?” All of us should ask the Holy Spirit to help us die to those things that weaken and ultimately destroy the life of God from flowing through us.
Jesus brings hope to the despairing, comfort to the brokenhearted, healing to the sick, strength to the weary, and deliverance to those in bondage. Jesus brings the dead to LIFE! He makes all things new! Is He alive in you today?
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. (2 Corinthians 5:17).
Everyday is Easter for the Christian! Are you living a resurrected life?
Arise, shine and live for Christ today!
Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you. For behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and thick darkness the peoples; but the Lord will arise upon you, and His glory will be seen upon you. Be radiant and let your heart be filled with joy! (Isaiah 60:1-2; 5)
For you know that God paid a ransom to save you from the empty life you inherited from your ancestors. And it was not paid with mere gold or silver, which lose their value. It was the precious blood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God. God chose Him as your ransom long before the world began, but now in these last days He has been revealed for your sake. Through Christ you have come to trust in God. And you have placed your faith and hope in God because He raised Christ from the dead and gave Him great glory. (1 Peter 1:18-20)
We are all called to live for Christ beyond holy week. (1 Peter 1:13-16)
Jesus is the firstborn from the dead, that in all things, He may have the preeminence (Colossians 1:18).
