Even in the movie, Braveheart, and other similarly epic battle films, you will notice one of the main goals of the King of England and the English infantry was to take out the Scottish leader, Sir William Wallace.* Unless the vision and passion of any movement or cause has been fully ingrained in the hearts of the followers of the vision or cause, it will likely cease to go forth without the leader or head in place.
The enemy desires to cut off the “heads” of ministries, households, and those who have any godly vision, dream or ministry that is truly shining the light of God’s goodness, glory and grace, etc. If he can’t get to the head, he will then go after what is closest to the heart of the head – specifically, their spouses or children. Many in ministry have experienced the onslaught of the enemy’s attack to take their children captive and to ultimately destroy them. The Father of lies brings deception, seduction, bondage, and every weapon in his arsenal to steal, kill, and, ultimately destroy leaders and their families. He is continually seeking those he can devour. (See John 8:44; 10:10 and 1 Peter 5:8)
Worried? Fearful? Scared? Perhaps you shouldn’t be? Certainly, as believers and followers of Christ we are told not to be worried or fearful over anything (Isaiah 41:10; Philippians 4:6; Matthew 6:25). But, from another angle, perhaps you shouldn’t be worried If you aren’t actively involved with leading others to follow Christ or to grow in Christ. If you don’t have any desire to have any influence as a Christ follower, you are not likely as big of a target. After all, any soldier that has already befriended or surrendered to the enemy is never a threat. However, even though you may not necessarily be a major threat, still, Satan’s desire is to stop all believers from advancing into maturity and to hinder every believer’s impact as salt and light in their families, communities, and in the world.
There is no need to fear. God has not given us a spirit fear. Only the king of darkness operates in fear and terror. Greater is He (Jesus – The Spirit of Truth and Life) that is in us, than every evil power of the ruler of this present fallen world. Stay covered in the protective armor of God. Hopefully, you know what that is and you are wearing it daily in this fight of faith battle we are all in as His warrior sons and daughters. (In case you don’t, read Ephesians 6:10-18.)
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7)

For the believer, “To live is Christ, and to die is gain.” (Apostle Paul, Philippians 1:21)
A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere. (Ephesians 6:10-18)

Unwilling to compromise, William Wallace refused to submit to English rule, and King Edward’s men pursued him until August 5, 1305, when they captured and arrested him near Glasgow. He was taken to London and condemned as a traitor to the king and was hanged, disemboweled, beheaded and quartered. He was seen by the Scots as a martyr and as a symbol of the struggle for independence, and his efforts continued after his death.
