May This be a Turning Point for Many

May this be a turning point for many. May many more strong voices standing for what is good and true now be awakened to boldly and courageously proclaim life and liberty for all we pray, amen.

These are my some of my own heartfelt thoughts I felt compelled to write out today in honor of Charlie Kirk’s life and what has now become known as Patriot Day.

America now has two back to back historic days (September 10th and 11th) where the voices of freedom and the spirit of liberty were attacked, but may all Christ followers agree with God and His Word (Revelation 12:11-12) and the verse inscribed on the liberty bell in Leviticus 25:10 – “proclaim liberty throughout the land to all…” – amen. May all patriotic lovers of freedom agree too.

On September 10th, America lost a true warrior of light and freedom fighter.

On September 11th, America lost many innocent citizens and brave, heroic ones.

Charlie Kirk stood for the principles of freedom our nation was founded upon. Those principles were attacked yesterday, September 10, 2025, on a college campus in Utah, as well as 24 years ago today, September 11, 2001, across our nation.

Holy Spirit, comfort, help and bring healing to the precious family of Charlie Kirk. Because of the positive and godly impact Charlie’s life and voice had on thousands (young and old), our hearts are filled with grief for the loss of his presence among us. As someone who has experienced the life of a beloved brother unjustly taken tragically and horrifically through the spirit of evil, my heart grieves and feels the weight with those whose lives are suddenly impacted with trauma and whose hearts are broken by unimaginable pain and sorrow. On days like yesterday and today, I am always moved to heartfelt tears of intercession.

Most of us will never forget where we were on September 11th and exactly what we were doing when we learned of the first plane crashing into the World Trade Center in the horrifying terrorist attack on our nation. When shocking tragedy unexpectedly strikes, everything stops, especially when it happens to us personally. We are forced to change our plans, shift our focus, and often our lives are then redirected through a long season of grief. So much help and healing is needed. The magnitude of the events of September 11, 2001, and our connection as fellow Americans moved us to pause in a state of shock and horror (at the very least) and to pray and grieve with those directly affected. For some, the events of 9-11 also led to a redirection, with an increase of young men and women signing up to serve in the military, and so much more. Due to the love, admiration and respect many had for Charle and what his life represented, this occurred yesterday too. For the close family members and friends, the devastating disruption to their lives they are now encountering and which will not hastily dissipate cannot be comprehended by those who have never walked through such a valley.

Charlie Kirk’s life on earth was violently ended at the vibrant and young age of 31. Why? We may never know the full answer to this. However, we can take comfort from God’s Word which tells us that “precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his faithful servants” (Psalm 116:15 NIV). In honor of his life, may we focus on the example he left us of speaking the truth in love, initiating the exchange of healthy debate and free speech on college campuses, standing up for Biblical values and the sanctity of life, being a role model for a Christ honoring marriage and family, and boldly sharing his faith in Jesus Christ, his Savior and Lord, and in God’s Holy Word, the Bible. Charlie was a faithful father, loving husband and a bold patriot for free speech and peaceful dialogue. Charlie did not initiate hate and physical violence, but instead he exemplified the words of scripture using his voice to proclaim liberty for all throughout our land, and he did so with a smile while respecting and listening to the opinions of others. Jesus, who came to give life to all, told us the enemy comes only to steal, kill and destroy (John 10:10).  We can clearly see the battle in our land is over the liberty to speak truth fearlessly, share godly values and respectfully engage with others in a public forum. The enemy’s goal is to completely silence every voice of life. Father God, help us all to follow this freedom warrior’s legacy in not only sharing our faith and our convictions but living them out in our culture. Charlie lived as a free man and is truly free now like the meaning of his name. Thank you, Charlie, for standing up for freedom of speech for all and living a life that honored God and respected all lives. We are so thankful that your voice will live on and never be silenced. Instead, we pray the message of your life and voice will burn brighter than ever as a flaming torch awakening thousands more who never even knew you. Well done, good and faithful servant…now enter the joy of your Master (see Matthew 25:21).

May we honor the memory of Charlie Kirk as well as all the lives lost on September 11th as a result of spirits of fear and terror that attempt to silence, stifle and destroy the spirit of liberty and freedom. May this be a turning point for the awakening and arising for other voices of freedom and for other good godly ones to overcome evil with good more than ever.

“Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.” Romans 12:21

“A life is not measured by its duration, but by its donation.” Corrie Ten Boom

Remembering, honoring, and praying for healing over all is in order especially on September 11th, Patriot Day.

Now, more than ever, it is time to stand up as followers of Christ and fellow patriots. Speak the truth in love. Obey God. Live free. It’s time for all who claim to be followers of Christ to live as bold witnesses turning and pointing others to Jesus Christ, the Way the Truth and the Life (John 14:6).

“I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat is planted in the soil and dies, it remains alone. But its death will produce many new kernels—a plentiful harvest of new lives. Those who love their life in this world will lose it. Those who care nothing for their life in this world will keep it for eternity.” John 12:24-25 NLT

“And when that which is mortal puts on immortality, and what now decays is exchanged for what will never decay, then the Scripture will be fulfilled that says: Death is swallowed up by a triumphant victory! So death, tell me, where is your victory? Tell me death, where is your sting?” 1 Corinthians 15:54-55 TPT

“For to me, living means living for Christ, and dying is even better.” Philippians 1:21
