Twenty-three years ago today on June 13, 1994, I awoke to a nightmare like experience.  I will never forget it.  I remember the telephone ringing early that Monday morning, and immediately having an uneasiness in my spirit.  The next thing I knew I was belted over in a painful pool of unconsolable tears on my cold, tiled kitchen floor.  For some, their gut wrenching sorrow is released solely through tears that are only seen and never heard; but on this day, my wailing cries of lament were anything but silent, and they immediately prompted my husband to cry out for help too.  Amidst the foggy veil over my mind, the only thing I remember my husband saying to our Pastor on the other end of the phone was, “I need your help.”

Under my feet!

Every attack of the enemy has backfired. #heisundermyfeet #danceontheenemyshead #stronger thru #adversity #authorityinChrist  Philippians 1:12* #walkinpeace & #advancethekingdom

*My dear friends, I want you to know that what has happened to me has helped to spread the good news.  A quote of the Apostle Paul while in prison.  Is this my testimony?  If not, what’s my excuse?  Have I allowed life’s challenges to beat me into complacency and compromise, or have they propelled me to pursuing and serving God’s purposes?  Am I advancing God’s Kingdom through my life?

This should be our testimony, that whatever challenges or circumstances we face, we resist the enemy’s lies, deception, and condemnation, and accept the Lord’s conviction, correction, and the leading of the Holy Spirit to be transformed into a follower who wields the weapons of prayer, worship, and the Word.  We should use the authority we have been given as believers to advance the gospel of grace, spreading His peace and joy for the glory of God and the advancement of His Kingdom.  “Look, I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy…” Jesus said (Luke 10:19).

Those who God has mighty plans for should not be surprised at mighty attacks from the enemy. Yet, in and through all these things, we are more than conquerors through the power of Christ within us, and no weapon formed against us shall prosper.  (Romans 8:37; Isaiah 54:17)

For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. (Ephesians 6:15)

I have given you every place where the bottom of your foot steps, as I promised Moses. (Joshua 1:3)

For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of what we eat or drink, but of living a life of goodness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. (Romans 14:17)

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for he has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see,
that the oppressed will be set free, and that the time of the Lord’s favor has come. (Luke 4:18-19)
